MINSK, Oct 17 (BelTA/APP): A digital platform for medical document management is in development in Belarus, BelTA learned from Dmitry Lazar, Deputy Head of the Central Office for the Organization of Medical Aid, Head of the Department for Medical Aid to Mothers and Children at the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry.
Dmitry Lazar said: “Work on the digital platform has been in progress for about four years. Users will be able to use a smartphone to get access to the platform and request a service or get a certificate. It will simplify control over many processes, including those relating to pregnancy and birth. For instance, if a woman enjoys services of a private medical institution and a state-run polyclinic, then the unified information system will make managing her pregnancy simpler.”
Work is already in progress on pilot projects. “For instance, the issuance of birth certificates, which are needed to get other documents. The process involves a healthcare institution, a civil registry office, and the woman herself. It is not easy to handle all of that after a birth. But the digital platform can simplify the entire procedure. We are working on it. Pilot projects are in progress,” the official said.
