VIENTIANE, June 24 (Xinhua/APP): The Lao Journalists’ Association under the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, has launched a training program on environmental and green development reporting to strengthen media capacity through the participation of mass and civil society organizations in promoting green development in Laos.
The training was held here from June 23 to 29 and chaired by Savankhone Razmountry, president of the Lao Journalists’ Association, the local Pasaxon newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The program aims to enhance journalists’ knowledge and skills in using modern tools and technologies to create diverse content across multiple media platforms, with a special focus on sustainable green development and delivering impactful stories to both domestic and international audiences.
The training covered key topics such as gender roles and equality, sustainable green development, environmental issues, social media safety, media management, journalistic ethics, the use of artificial intelligence in media, and producing short-form stories for online platforms.
The program also includes a study tour on green and sustainable eco-tourism in Vientiane province, followed by a storytelling video competition. Top participants will have the chance to participate in international study tours.
