Kyrgyz education ministry, JICA discuss strategic partnership in education

BISHKEK, March 5 (Kabar/APP) : The ministry of education of Kyrgyz Republic host the meeting with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
According to the ministry, Deputy Minister of Education Lira Samykbaeva and JICA Headquarters Senior Advisor on Education Murato Toshio participated in the meeting.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in education. In particular, ministry representatives proposed strengthening the development of inclusive education in schools, both through improving infrastructure and training specialists working with children with special educational needs.
It was also proposed to upgrade the facilities of vocational schools and introduce elements of inclusive education into the vocational training system. Particular attention was paid to improving the qualifications of teachers and experts involved in the development of methodologies and standards, as well as to issues of analyzing and monitoring the quality of education.
Lira Samykbaeva noted the significant experience of the Japanese education system. She thanked the agency for its support and opportunities for collaboration within the framework of international programs.
In turn, Murato Toshio reported that JICA is developing a five-year strategic plan, in which education is considered one of the priority areas. After analyzing the submitted proposals, key areas of collaboration with the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic will be determined.
