Japan to confer Japanese FM Commendation to Pakistan Haiku Society

ISLAMABAD, Nov 25 (APP): Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Inomata, on behalf of Japanese Foreign Minister Mr. Fumio Kishida, will confer Japanese FM Commendation to Pakistan Haiku Society (PHS) for their contribution in promoting Japanese culture and literature in Pakistan.
In this regard, a Commendation Award Ceremony will be held on Thursday here in Islamabad. President PHS Naseem-e-Seher will also attend the event.
Pakistan Haiku Society (PHS) was established at Rawalpindi in 1994.
Late Dr. Bashir Saifi, a renowned Haiku Poet, was its first president.
Its Executive body comprises of well-known Haiku Poet like Khawar Ejaz
(former president of PHS). Dr. Rafeeq Sandeelvi, Ali Muhammad Farshi and Qayyum Tahir.
Currently Naseem e Sehar, a well known figure in Haiku poetry and
author of two Haiku books, is its President.
The PHS has had the privilege to hold various Haiku Poetry Recitals in
cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Lahore.
