MINSK, Aug 20 (BelTA/APP): Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in Belarus on an official visit. The aircraft carrying the Iranian head of state landed at Minsk National Airport, BelTA has learned.
Upon landing, Masoud Pezeshkian was greeted by Belarusian Industry Minister and Co-Chair of the Belarus-Iran Economic Cooperation Commission Andrei Kuznetsov, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lukashevich, Belarusian Ambassador to Iran Dmitry Koltsov, and Iranian Ambassador to Belarus Alireza Sanei.
According to the press service of the Belarusian president, Aleksandr Lukashenko is set to hold negotiations with Masoud Pezeshkian on 20 August. The heads of state will meet at the Palace of Independence for both one-on-one and expanded-format talks, culminating in the signing of bilateral documents aimed at strengthening partnership between the two countries.
Aleksandr Lukashenko and Masoud Pezeshkian are expected to discuss Belarus-Iran cooperation in trade, investment, and industrial collaboration, implementation of joint initiatives in science, technology, and education, as well as coordination within international organizations including the EAEU, SCO, BRICS, and the UN. Regional and international security will also be high on the agenda of the talks.
