Iran wins nine medals in Muay Thai contests at Manama Asian Youth Games

Tehran, Oct 27 (IRNA/APP): Iran wrapped up its Muay Thai campaign at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Manama, Bahrain, on Sunday with a haul of nine medals, including two golds, two silvers, and five bronzes.

In the girls’ events, Baran Jani secured Iran’s first gold medal after defeating a strong Thai opponent in the -40kg category for athletes aged 14-15. Rojan Behnami added the second gold for Iran with a win in the -48kg weight class.

Among the boys, Abolfazl Hajivand took a silver medal in the -45kg division after losing the final to Iraq’s Mohammed Fayadh, while Yasin Mousavi earned another silver in the -60kg category following a defeat to Jordan’s Ahmed Rayan.

Iranian athletes also claimed five bronze medals in other categories.
