Gilani calls for peaceful protests in IOK tomorrow

ISLAMABAD, Nov 12 (APP): Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has called for peaceful protests in Indian occupied Kashmir, tomorrow, after Friday prayers against the killings and arrests of youth at the hands of Indian authorities in the territory.
Syed Ali Gilani was addressing participants of a condolence meeting
over phone from his Huderpora residence at Zainakote in Srinagar, KMS reported.
He condemned the imposition of curfew to foil the condolence reference,
which he called to pay tributes to the martyred student, Gowhar Ahmad Dar, and said that the Peoples Democratic Party-led regime was shielding the killers.
He said, “The condolence meeting at Zainakote was a peaceful program in
the memory of an engineering student of SSM College, Gowhar Ahmad Dar who was martyred by Indian troops on Saturday, but the administration took this
program as a challenge and imposed curfew throughout Srinagar district.”
He maintained that despite curbs some pro-freedom and religious leaders
including Maulana Bashir Ahmad Farooqi, Maulana Ghulam Rasool Hami, Meraj-ud- Din Rabbani, Maulvi Javed, Sayed Riyaz Bukhari and Zafar Habib succeeded in reaching Zainakote and participated in the condolence program.
The veteran leader paid rich tributes to Gowhar Dar and said that Mufti
Muhammad Sayeed-led regime had broken all previous records of oppression,
cruelty and atrocities in the territory.
Syed Ali Gilani, who is under house arrest, also expressed serious
concern over crackdown on youth, especially after the Valley erupted into
protests over the death of Zainakote youth Gowhar Ahmad Dar.
