YANGON, July 28 (Xinhua/APP): Four people have died and four remain missing after flooding struck eastern Myanmar’s Shan state, a local police officer told Xinhua on Monday.

Heavy rain on Sunday night caused floodwater from the mountain to hit Konesaung village in Pindaya township, washing away five houses and leaving eight people missing, he said.

Four bodies were recovered on Monday, while search operations continue for the remaining missing persons, he added.
