MINSK, Jul 21 (BelTA/APP): Belarusian athletes are taking part in the European Youth Olympic Festival 2025 (EYOF) that has commenced in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, BelTA has learned.
Belarus has fielded 46 young athletes competing in seven sports. The opening day of the tournament on 21 July will feature the first medal events in swimming. The Belarusian team consists of Maksim Malyshka, Anastasiya Vasilenko, Mikita Liakh, Valeria Shilko, Katsiaryna Sakalova, Bazhena Pivash, Kseniya Mastovich, Milana Sauchanka, Maryia Adamovich, and Iryna Hurskaya. Yury Krautsou, Arseni Livantsou, Alina Nestsiarovich, and Darya Chuprys will compete for Belarus in the shooting event on Monday.
The judo event will take place on 22 July. Belarus’ team will comprise Hleb Kondratovich, Raman Kuznetsou, Mikita Marozau, Aliaksandr Aleinikau, Feliks Sauchanka, Arseni Kirylau, Daniil Lukashkevich, Anhelina Shinkareva, Aliaksandra Maiseyanka, Sofiya Minko, Sofiya Lisouskaya, and Darya Pleskachevich. The same day will feature table tennis qualification matches, with Belarus’ Varvara Zaitseva and Nazar Matsko to compete in the event.
Belarusian road cycling athletes will compete for medals on 22 and 24 July, with Tsimur Platonau, Mikita Zhdanov, Aliaksandr Herasimenka, Vasilina Tserakhova, Vasilina Charnaokaya, and Marharita Sadouskaya among the roster. The BMX racing events will take place on Wednesday, 23 July, with Kanstantsin Herasimenka and Diyana Danilava representing Belarus.
The first taekwondo medal events will take place on 23 July. The Belarusian taekwondo team includes Viktoryia Karnach, Maryia Strunets, Aryna Zhuk, Anastasiya Kurylionak, Palina Mikhalchuk, Mikita Belavy, Uladzimir Maroz, Uladzimir Shramuk, Viktar Barkouski, and Stanislau Pivavarchyk.
The European Youth Olympic Festival in Skopje has brought together around 1,700 young athletes aged 14 to 18 from 49 countries.
