Dr.Gillani appreciates Shah Mehmood Qureshi for raising oppressed Kashmiris plight at UN General Assembly

LONDON, Sep 30 (APP):President International Human Rights Council of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr.Syed Nazir Ahmed Gillani
Sunday appreciated Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi for raising Kashmiris’
rightful plight and exposing Indian forces gross violation of human rights and atrocities in
occupied Kashmir at 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
“People of Kashmir highly appreciate and thankful to Pakistan and its Foreign Minister
Shah Mehmood Qureshi for voicing the plight of innocent people of Indian occupied Kashmir and
effectively responding to the statement of Indian External Affairs Minister, Shushma Swaraj at
the UN General Assembly and exposing the state terrorism unleashed by Indian occupation forces
on innocent people in the occupied Kashmir to suppress their birth right to self determination
granted to them by the UN Security Council”, he told APP while reacting to the statement of Indian
External Affairs Minister Shushma Swaraj speech.
While appreciating statement of the Shah Mehmood Qureshi, he said that it was engaging
comprehensive and a proper response to Indian External Affairs Minister, regarding current grave human
rights situation in Indian occupied Kashmir.
Dr.Syed Nazir Gillani urged International Community specially the UN Security Council
and Human Rights Organizations to stop India from committing gross violations of human rights
and atrocities in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) forthwith.
He also demanded to play its vital role in resolving Kashmir issue according to
the aspirations of people of Kashmir and UN resolutions to decide their future destiny.
He also strongly condemned Indian atrocities on innocent people of Indian occupied Kashmir to
quell their indigenous struggle to right of self determination granted to them by the UN security
Council.
Dr.Syed Nazir Ahmed Gillani said that unprecedented sacrifices of valiant people of Kashmir
would not go waste and their struggle for right to self determination and complete freedom of Kashmir
from Indian subjugation would succeed very soon.
Dr.Nazir Gillani said the people of Indian occupied Kashmir were giving sacrifices to secure
the future of people of Pakistan and Kashmir.
He added that Indian occupation troops were killing the innocent people of occupied Kashmir
specially the youth who they suspected as freedom fighters adding that India was also
involved in ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri people.
He vowed that people of Kashmir would continue to give sacrifices till the realization of
their birth right to self determination and freedom of Kashmir from Indian occupation.
Dr.Nazir Ahmed Gillani said Pakistan had time and again invited India for a dialogue to
resolve the Kashmir dispute peacefully but India had always avoided and hesitated to come to the
negotiating table on flimsy grounds.
He warned that unresolved Kashmir dispute would be a threat to global peace after the
nuclearization of the South Asian region.
He ,therefore called for resolution of Kashmir dispute peacefully and under UN Security
Council resolutions and according to the will of the people of Kashmir to ensure global peace and
prosperity in the region.
