DeM denounces Aasiya Andrabi’s re-arrest in IHK

ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (APP): Duktaran-e-Millat (DeM) has castigated the authorities for repeatedly putting its Chairperson Aasiya Andrabi under detention.
The DeM General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen addressing media persons at
the Press Enclave in Srinagar said that Aasiya Andrabi along with Sofi
Fahmeeda was arrested on November 2 and released on November 10.She was
again arrested on November 11 and released on November 13. On November 17
evening, she was re-arrested which proved the frustration of the
authorities.”Authorities have been often putting Aasiya Andrabi either under
house arrest or she is lodged in police station,Kashmir Media Service reported.
From August this year, the police have raided her residence several
times and six cases have been registered against her in just 22 days,” she
said, adding that police also raided the houses Aasiya’s relatives.
She said Indian media is on forefront to highlight the unfurling of
Pakistani flags in Valley and slaughter of bovine animals. “Where are they
when a woman is arrested and re-arrested in false cases?” she questioned. She reiterated that right to self-determination was the birth right of Kashmiris.
Nahida Nasreen added that the liberation struggle would continue till it reached to its logical conclusion. “The Indian policy of oppression has never and will not deter us to achieve what we are struggling for. Even the children in Kashmir want and support the Azadi (Freedom) cause,” she said.
She said that unfurling Pakistani flag in Kashmir was no offence “This
is a disputed territory and India has enforced its illegal occupation here,”
