Defense, Martyrs Day observed at Pakistan Embassy Kabul

KABUL, Sep 06 (APP):The Defense and Martyrs Day of Pakistan was commemorated with solemn dignity and national pride at the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul on Sunday.
The ceremony, presided over by Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, Ambassador of Pakistan to Afghanistan, brought together embassy officers, staff, and a large number of the Pakistani diaspora residing in Afghanistan.
Ambassador Nizamani paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices and enduring legacy of the martyrs and veterans of Pakistan’s armed forces whose courage, honour and patriotism is woven into the national consciousness. The unity, faith and determination demonstrated by Pakistan’s Armed Forces and the nation on 6th September 1965, and reaffirmed during the successful operations of Bunyan-ul-Marsoos and Maarka-e-Haq, stand as a testament to the professionalism and preparedness of our Armed Forces, as well as to the lasting bond between the Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan.
Ambassador Nizamani underscored Pakistan’s growing stature as the region’s net security provider terming it a testimony to our commitment to dialogue and diplomacy without compromising on our preparedness and resolve against conventional and unconventional threats.
On this occasion, messages of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister Senator Muhamad Ishaq Dar were read out and a special documentary was also screened.
