COAS calls on Chinese CMC, areas of further bilateral military cooperation discussed

BEIJING, Sep 18 (APP):Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Vice Chairman of the Chinese Central Military Commission (CMC), General Zhang Youxia on Tuesday.
According to a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Gen Zhang Youxia said China greatly valued its time tested relations with Pakistan and its Army.
He said China looked forward to further expanding that cooperation. Gen Youxia said development of CPEC was aimed at bringing more benefits and prosperity to the people of both the countries.
He termed Pak-China military cooperation as an important pillar of bilateral relations and said the two militaries should further strengthen this cooperation to safeguard common security challenges.
The generals also discussed areas of further bilateral military cooperation in the field of
counter terrorism, arms and equipment technology, and training.
The COAS thanked Vice Chairman for the Chinese support and cooperation. The Ambassador of Pakistan to China was also present during the meeting.
