ISLAMABAD, Nov 6 (APP): Chairman, National Accountability
Bureau (NAB), Qamar Zaman Chaudhry Friday held a meeting with
Iranian Deputy Minister of Justice, Ali Reza Abedi Kazemi and
discussed matters of mutual interests.
The meeting was held on sidelines of 6th session of
CoSP to United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) being
held in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Chairman NAB highlighted the significance of relationship of
both brotherly Muslim countries, says a message received here.
He explained working of NAB and overall anti-corruption
regime in Pakistan in detail.
Iranian delegation was also briefed about three-pronged anti-
corruption strategy of NAB i.e. Awareness, Prevention and
Enforcement.Ali Reza Abedi explained anti-corruption regime in Iran
and clarified that there is no central authority on anti-corruption
in Iran.There are mainly five institutions which are dealing with
corruption and Ministry of Justice is focal point for UNCAC.
Both sides also discussed various resolutions which are being
tabled on different issues/aspects related to provisions of UNCAC.
Both sides agreed to have more frequent contacts and
cooperation on issues of mutual interests.
