At UN, Pakistan urges global cooperation to tackle cross-border threats & terrorism

Pakistan’s interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Wednesday gave a clarion call for member states to work together and support each other in fighting  common security challenges facing the world.

UNITED NATIONS, Jul 09 (APP):Pakistan’s interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Wednesday gave a clarion call for member states to work together and support each other in fighting  common security challenges facing the world.
Identifying these challenges — terrorism,  organized crime, cyber crime drug trafficking, human smuggling an money laundering, he said, “These threats affect all of us; No country is safe from them, and  no country can deal with them alone.”
“That is why international cooperation is more important today than ever before,” the Interior Minister told police leaders from around the world attending the United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS-2026)  in the iconic General Assembly Hall.
The subject of the session was ‘Enhancing International Cooperation to Address Transnational Challenges”. at which Mohsin Naqvi delivered his address from the podium, as he is one of  the key panelist for the Summit.
“We must work together. We must trust each other. We must share information quickly. We must support one another.
And we must build stronger partnerships between our law enforcement agencies,” he added.
Highlighting that technology is changing very fast, the Interior Minister said criminals were using it to commit crimes.
“So we must also use modern technology to prevent them.”
In this regard, Mohsin Naqvi called for improving the skills of police officers, strengthening their training, and making
greater use of innovation.
“This session brings together experienced leaders from every part of the world,” he said. “Each one of you brings valuable knowledge and practical experience.”
The Minister hoped that today’s  discussion will be open, practical, and solution-oriented.
 “Let us share ideas that have worked, learn from each other’s successes and find new ways to work together.”
The United Nations, he said,  provides a unique platform.t brings us together with one common purpose — to make “our countries safer, to protect our people,
