MINSK, Jul 23 (BelTA/APP): Iran and Belarus have historically maintained very friendly relations, said head of the Belarus-Iran parliamentary cooperation group at the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Ali Asghar Bagherzadeh for cooperation with the National Assembly of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
“First of all, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to meet. I would also like to thank the Belarusian people for their hospitality. On behalf of the esteemed Mr. Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, I would like to convey warm greetings to you. We hope that his visit to the Republic of Belarus will be organized soon, before the end of this year,” Ali Asghar Bagherzadeh said.
The head of the working group emphasized that Iran and Belarus have historically enjoyed very friendly relations. “Diplomatic ties span over 30 years. We have excellent cooperation in political, economic, cultural, and scientific sectors. We are also interested in expanding this cooperation,” he said.
“Our parliaments also maintain strong collaboration within international organizations. In international bodies, communities, and inter-parliamentary unions, we always support each other,” Ali Asghar Bagherzadeh added.
