BEIJING, June 7 (APP):At least 3,000 journalists from around 15 countries are likely to gather for coverage of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit to take place in Qingdao, China from June 9 to 10.
A media center has been opened to facilitate the journalists while a team of well-prepared volunteers comprising local university students will be deployed for this high-profile event.
From giving directions to guests to dealing with minor problems, the team of volunteers will be essential for reporters coming from across the world.
At the heart of the media center, there are 600 news desks with computers, Internet access and simultaneous interpretation.
The speeches and meetings of the SCO leaders will be broadcast live on a big screen inside the building.
This is the first SCO Summit to take place after India and Pakistan were included as full members. The organization now covers 80 percent of the Eurasian landmass and half of the world’s population.
