Beijing, 24 Oct (APP): As many as 126 students from Pakistan have
arrived China for two-year programme to learn Chinese language on fully funded scholarships by Chief Minister Punjab Scheme.
This is the second batch of the students in a year and out of them, 39
selected students will learn Chinese language in Beijing Language and Culture University of Beijing, 47 in a prominent university of Shanghai and 40 in University of Yanshan.
Talking to APP, Wajid Ali an aspiring student of this Chinese learning
programme said “we will try our best to learn Chinese language in two years and pass an exam of Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) Level 5 or 6 as per requirement of this programme”.
He resolved that he and his classmates would not breach the trust of the Punjab Government and would serve in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Another student, Muhamamd Tanvir hoped that he would not only learn
Chinese language during two-year course but also the history and culture of China. “After completing the course, our future will be bright and I will be happy to teach Chinese language to Pakistani youth”, he added.
He said that the demand of learning Chinese language was rapidly increasing in the world and Chinese universities were also improving their world ranking.
The students appreciated the Punjab Government for taking this
remarkable step and demanded of the federal government and other provincial governments to provide their youth the similar opportunity of learning Chinese language realizing it as need of the hour since China had become the world’s second biggest economy and has proved its mettle across the world.
Under this programme, total 500 students will be brought to China for learning Chinese language and Punjab government will bear all of their expenditures.
These youths will have the ability to facilitate effective and accurate
formal communication between a party that speaks Punjabi, Urdu or English and the one that speaks Chinese.
First group of 66 Chinese language scholarship awardees was already learning Chinese language in a leading university of China.
