Chief Minister’s secretariat opened to all elected lawmakers without prior appointment

Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Amjad Hussain Advocate, has taken a significant and far-reaching step to promote democratic values, public service, and good governance by exempting all elected members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly from the requirement of obtaining prior appointments and observing protocol restrictions for meetings with the Chief Minister.

ASTORE, Jul 16 (APP): Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Amjad Hussain Advocate, has taken a significant and far-reaching step to promote democratic values, public service, and good governance by exempting all elected members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly from the requirement of obtaining prior appointments and observing protocol restrictions for meetings with the Chief Minister.
Under the new decision, Members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly will no longer be required to seek prior appointments to meet the Chief Minister. Instead, they will be able to visit the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and meet him directly at any time.
The security and relevant staff at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat have been directed to ensure that every elected lawmaker is received promptly, treated with due respect, and provided with all necessary facilitation to help resolve public issues without unnecessary delay.
Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Advocate said that elected members of the Assembly are the true representatives of the people, and respecting them is, in fact, respecting the public mandate. He emphasized that strong coordination and effective communication between elected representatives and the government are essential for the timely and efficient resolution of public problems.
He further stated, “The Chief Minister’s Secretariat does not belong to any individual; it is an institution of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, and its doors will always remain open to their elected representatives.”
