ASTORE, Aug 27 (APP):Assistant Commissioner Astore Muhammad Shoaib conducted surprise inspections of various shops and hotels in the markets to assess the quality and expiry dates of food items, cleanliness, hygiene standards, and compliance with official price lists.
During the inspections, prohibited and expired food items were recovered from several shops and hotels and were immediately confiscated by the administration.
On the occasion, the AC issued clear instructions to shopkeepers and hotel owners to ensure the provision of quality, safe, and hygienic food items to the public under all circumstances.
He directed shopkeepers to check the expiry dates, quality, and packaging of food items before purchasing and selling them and to completely refrain from selling expired or substandard products.
Hotel owners were also instructed to maintain high standards of cleanliness, store food items in accordance with health and hygiene principles, and strictly comply with prescribed sanitation standards.
The AC warned that no compromise would be made on public health. Strict legal action would be taken against individuals involved in the sale or purchase of prohibited, substandard, or expired food items.
He further stated that surprise inspections of markets, shops, and hotels would continue in the future to ensure the availability of quality food items to citizens and to ensure effective implementation of cleanliness and hygiene standards.
The district administration appealed to shopkeepers and business owners to cooperate with the administration and ensure full compliance with the prescribed laws and regulations for the protection of public health.
