ISLAMABAD, Aug 29 (APP): President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Rauf Alam while terming the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as game-changer said that the project would help promote trade with Central Asia and beyond.
Addressing the inaugural session of CPEC summit and Expo, the business leader termed the project as historic achievement of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Government which he said would give huge economic dividends on completion.
“The China Pakistan Economic Corridor project would be a game changer,” Rauf Alam said and expressed the hope that it would bring tremendous revolution on the economic outlook of the country.
The FPCCI President said that Pakistan China relationship has attained great strategic significance against the backdrop of changing regional and international situation.
He said that China also accords great importance to the relations with Pakistan and is also appreciative of Pakistan’s support for its initiatives.
He said that the CPEC would bring about great opportunities of investment for both local as well as foreign investors adding that the development of ports and important infrastructure would provide easy access to Central Asian Countries.
“This would help promote trade in Central Asian countries and beyond,” the business leader remarked.
The FPCCI President said that completion of the power projects and the CPEC itself would help provision of cheap energy to not only meet the demands of the country but also make country’s exports competitive.
He said that the business community of Pakistan was indebted to China for its support in every sector of economy and defence.
“On behalf of business community, I thank China for this historical agreement which would further strengthen relations between the two countries,” he said adding this would also provide an opportunity to the people of both the countries.
Rauf Alam said that the business community supports the initiatives of the government to bring the country on road of progress and prosperity.
