UN Security Council begins meeting on UN-OIC cooperation

UNITED NATIONS, Jul 24 (APP): The UN Security Council began its meeting on Thursday to discuss cooperation between the United Nations and the Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The meeting, chaired by Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, is being briefed by Mohamed Khaled Khiari, UN Assistant Secretary-General for the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific in the Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations.

OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Dubaie, will also brief the15-member body.
