MAKKAH, May 17 (APP):People often assume that once someone becomes a doctor, they achieve overnight wealth. However, behind the white coat of 33-year-old Filipino doctor, Fatima Al-Zahra, lay a reality the world knew nothing about. As a first-generation doctor who studied entirely on scholarships, she was buried under student debt and had been the sole breadwinner for her five siblings and mother since her father’s demise in 2017.
According to Saudi media reports, when Fatima’s mother expressed a heartfelt desire to perform Hajj, it deeply moved her. Despite practicing as a family medicine specialist, her salary was not enough to save thousands of Pesos (Philippine currency) each month. The total expense for the sacred journey was 350,000 Pesos an impossible dream under her current financial constraints.
One night, after an exhausting shift at the hospital, Fatima shared her sense of helplessness on social media. A stranger following her profile suggested, “Why don’t you go live on TikTok and sell products?”
This marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey. Every night from 8:00 PM to midnight, while the world slept, this doctor was online selling soaps. By day, she treated patients; by night, she safeguarded her mother’s dream. Fatima did not just sell a few; she sold over 6,000 bars of soap. The small commission amounting to less than a dollar per soap gradually accumulated to secure a Hajj visa on her mother’s passport.
Today, her 61-year-old mother is in Makkah Mukarramah. This heartwarming story teaches us that when intentions are pure, the Creator of the universe rewards the relentless dedication of a daughter who stopped at nothing to fulfill her mother’s prayers
