MAKKAH AL MUKARRAMAH, May 31 (APP): The Ministry of Religious Affairs on Saturday strongly refuted a fake news circulating on social media regarding Hajj arrangements.

Terming the propaganda campaign against the catering company ‘Baharat Asia’ as baseless and unfounded, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs Muhammad Umar Butt clarified that according to Saudi Ministry of Commerce’s official documents, the company’s proprietor is a Saudi woman, Fatimah Muhammad Atiyan Al-Kaabi while the company’s legal representative and manager is also a citizen of the Kingdom, Adel bin Suhaim bin Ali Al-Kaabi.

He said that in Arabic, the word Baharat Asia simply means ‘spices of Asia’ and assumptions based on the name are entirely speculative, said a statement issued here.

For the past 12 years, three meals a day have been provided to over 88,000 pilgrims during their 40-day stay in Saudi Arabia, in line with Pakistani taste, he added.

He said that around 99.4 percent of intending pilgrims have already expressed their satisfaction with the quality, taste, and standard of the meals.

The spokesperson urged the public to refrain from spreading baseless rumors so that the Pakistan Hajj Mission can focus its resources on facilitating pilgrims rather than responding to misinformation.
