Punjab University hosts unveiling of two China-Pakistan cooperation platforms
BEIJING, Sept. 23 (APP): The University of the Punjab hosted the unveiling of two China-Pakistan cooperation platforms as its College of Pharmacy and the Shandong Academy of Chinese Medicine launched the pharmaceutical resource research and development center, while the PU and the Shandong Tongshan children’s welfare and public welfare development center formally introduced the China-Pakistan Youth Volunteer Service Team in Pakistan.
The pharmaceutical center was first launched in Jinan in November 2025. In Pakistan, it focuses on bilateral research in pharmaceuticals and traditional medicine, the extraction and development of medicines, and technology transfer, CEN reported on Wednesday.
The youth volunteer service team, established in China last month, is expected to organize joint programs in education, health, child welfare and cultural exchange. The unveiling ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab; Li Xiao, Director of the Shandong Tongshan Children’s Welfare and Public Welfare Development Center; and Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, President of the China Pakistan Medical Association (CPMA), representing the Shandong Academy of Chinese Medicine and the CPMA.
Senior academic and professional representatives from the healthcare sector, faculty members and researchers also attended the event.
