PM Shehbaz to attend UN General Assembly, key bilateral, multilateral meetings in New York

NEW YORK, Sep 23 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will participate in the opening session of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) here on Tuesday.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will attend a special summit of Arab and Islamic countries hosted jointly by the United States and Qatar. He has been invited as a special participant at the high-level gathering, which will also be attended by U.S. President Donald Trump, a Prime Minister’s Office news release said.

On the sidelines of the UNGA, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold important bilateral meetings with Austrian Chancellor Christina Stocker, Kuwait’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.

The Prime Minister will also participate in and deliver an address at the high-level meeting on the Global Development Initiative (GDI), underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to international cooperation on sustainable development.
