The chief guest for the occasion was Muhammad Irfan, Press Counselor at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah. The host, Principal of the Al-Aziziyah School, Sajid Nadeem, welcomed all the guests and extended special thanks to the Press Counselor, Muhammad Irfan.
PISJ-A hosted Iqbal Day with great reverence, enthusiasm
Attendees included the Principal of the Pakistan International School, Taif, Qaiser Khan; Vice Principal Ms Rubina Naz; Coordinator Sarfraz Nadeem; and Muhammad Ikram. Also present were the Principal of the Pakistan International School, Rehab (English Section), Ms. Amna Usman Khan, along with other faculty members and school staff.
During the event, the students showcased their talents by delivering compelling speeches on the poetry, thought, and philosophy of the “Poet of the East,” Allama Muhammad Iqbal—specifically focusing on his concepts of *Khudi* (selfhood) and the *Shaheen* (the eagle/soaring spirit).
The objective of the event was to acquaint the younger generation with Allama Iqbal’s ideas and to foster self-confidence, high morale, self-respect, and national consciousness among the students. Through their speeches, artistic performances (tableaux), and recitations of Iqbal’s poetry, the students highlighted that Iqbal’s message encourages the youth to believe in their own potential, pursue lofty goals, and achieve success through persistent hard work and dedication.
Discussing Allama Iqbal’s concept of *Khudi* (selfhood) and his philosophy of the *Shaheen* (falcon), Seema Saleh, Dua Waheed, Sabgha Fatima, and others remarked that *Khudi* grants an individual a sense of self-identity and self-confidence, while the *Shaheen* serves as a symbol of high aspirations, freedom, self-respect, and lofty ambitions. Through these speeches, the children presented Iqbal’s message in their own unique way, demonstrating their literary and intellectual aptitude.
In his concluding address, the chief guest, Press Counsellor Muhammad Irfan, praised the children’s performance and offered them words of encouragement.
He commended the dedicated efforts of the teachers and organizers in preparing the students, which enabled them to express their thoughts with great confidence and eloquence.
Expressing his delight at the students’ capabilities and talent, he remarked that he envisions a bright future—not only for these children but for Pakistan as well.
He extended special thanks to Sajid Nadeem, Principal of Al-Aziziyah School, whose support and patronage were instrumental in organizing this academic and literary event.
The event proved to be a positive step toward fostering national and literary consciousness among Pakistani students, honing their public speaking skills, and conveying Allama Iqbal’s message to the new generation.
The students’ confident participation and intellectual prowess reinforced the belief that, with proper guidance and opportunities, the new generation can indeed become a bright future for the nation.
