TOKYO, May 01 (APP):The Embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo, in collaboration with Minato City Industrial Promotion Center, Asia Web3 Alliance Japan, JICA, Deloitte, PSEB and Ignite – National Technology Fund, hosted a Pakistan-focused GoGlobal event on Friday, bringing together participants from Japan’s innovation, investment, corporate and startup communities.

The event formed part of the Mission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Pakistan–Japan technology connectivity and to create practical channels between Pakistani startups and Japan’s innovation ecosystem. It also followed the visit of Pakistan’s startup delegation to SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, where Pakistani companies engaged with Japan’s wider startup, investor and technology networks.

The engagement comes at a time when Pakistan is actively positioning itself as a global technology and outsourcing destination, with recent national-level emphasis on digital infrastructure, skills development, startup participation in global technology events, and international branding of Pakistan’s IT sector.

In his keynote remarks, Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan, Abdul Hameed said that Pakistan’s technology ecosystem was moving beyond simple service delivery as it was building platforms, products and specialized solutions for global markets.

He highlighted complementary strengths of both countries as Pakistan offered agility, technical talent and the ability to iterate rapidly and Japan offered market depth, industrial knowledge and pathways to global scale.

The Ambassador’s keynote speech was followed by remarks from Edward Murakami, Representative of Minato City Industrial Promotion Center and Hinza Asif, President of Asia Web3 Alliance Japan. The programme introduced Pakistan’s emerging technology landscape through a presentation by Muhammad Bilal Abbasi, CEO of Ignite – National Technology Fund.

Pakistani startups Superbutler AI, Voltkonnect Technologies, Camsense and Rfidify presented their solutions to Japanese stakeholders, followed by a panel discussion titled “Bridging Ecosystems: Investment, Innovation, and Collaboration Opportunities Between Japan and Pakistan.” The panel brought together representatives from Shibuya Startup Support, SMBC Nikko Securities, Ignite, and Toyota Financial Services Corporation.

The evening moved from pitches to conversation, and from introductions to possibilities. For many participants, the value lay not only in presenting Pakistan’s startup potential, but in seeing how Japanese partners listen, question, test, and build trust before moving forward.

The event concluded with a clear sense that Pakistan–Japan technology cooperation can move from visibility to practical engagement when startups, institutions, and ecosystem partners are brought into the same room.
