CAIRO, EGYPT, Feb 06 (APP):Ms Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, met with Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of education.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in pre-university education, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), and the exchange of expertise in teaching Arabic and developing specialized educational programs.
Senior officials from both were also present.
At the outset, both sides reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan and Egypt to strengthening their strategic partnership in education, building on successful experiences in both countries to improve learning outcomes and education quality.
Ms Wajiha Qamar highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing education reforms, including efforts to unify national education standards, align curricula with national priorities and labor market needs, and enhance institutional effectiveness. She emphasized Pakistan’s keen interest in learning from Egypt’s experience in curriculum development, digital learning, and teacher capacity building.
The Minister also shared Pakistan’s innovative initiatives in technical and vocational education aimed at improving graduate employability and expanding industry-relevant skills among youth.
Both sides discussed cooperation in priority technical sectors, student and trainer exchange programs, and joint initiatives to strengthen teacher training. Special emphasis was placed on promoting Arabic language education for Pakistani students and developing specialized academic programs.
Ms Wajiha Qamar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening educational ties with Egypt and expressed confidence that enhanced collaboration would contribute to human capital development, youth empowerment, and sustainable growth in both countries.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to explore practical frameworks and future agreements to translate these discussions into concrete outcomes for long-term academic and technical cooperation.
