Pak Consul General highlights tangible results of China’s agricultural technology transfer
BEIJING, Sept. 29, (APP):Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu, Tanvir A Bhatti said that China’s agricultural technology transfer to Pakistan has delivered tangible results help boosting sustainable economic development.
He made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the 12th Chengdu International Urban Modern Agriculture Expo and the Chengdu Modern Urban Agriculture Investment Promotion Conference for Cluster and Chain Development.
Hybrid chili varieties and drying equipment from Sichuan have helped Pakistani farmers raise their income from less than $300 per acre to $900 per acre,” the Consul General said. “This has also integrated Pakistan directly into China’s processing industry chain, a successful example of how agricultural cooperation can contribute to poverty reduction.”
The Consul General said hat Chinese hybrid rice technology is also helping Pakistani farmers increase grain output. The momentum was further underscored by trade data. In the first seven months of 2026, Pakistan’s rice exports to China grew by more than 200 percent year-on-year, while sesame exports rose 72 percent over the same period, CEN reported.
“The significance of agricultural cooperation lies not only in growing trade figures, but more importantly in improving the daily lives of ordinary people in both countries,” Tanvir Bhatti noted. “When Pakistani mangoes reach the dining tables of households across Chengdu, and when rice growers in Punjab province use agricultural applications developed in China, the benefits become tangible and immediate.”
