First batch of China’s emergency humanitarian aid arrives in Cambodia

BEIJING, Dec 28 (APP): The first batch of emergency humanitarian aid provided by the Chinese government to Cambodia, including tents, blankets, and food, arrived at Phnom Penh’s Techo International Airport at noon local time on Sunday, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia said.
Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia Zhong Jie, and Cambodian Secretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation UNG Rachana, among others, attended the handover ceremony, according to the embassy.
Wang Wenbin said that China’s provision of emergency humanitarian aid supplies worth 20 million yuan fully reflects the deep friendship between China and Cambodia, Global Times reported.
China welcomes the announcement of a ceasefire by both Cambodia and Thailand and will continue to play a positive and constructive role in helping the two sides consolidate the ceasefire situation, Wang Wenbing said.
On behalf of the Cambodian government and people, UNG Rachana expressed sincere gratitude to China for providing the aid, saying that the Cambodian government highly values the ironclad friendship between Cambodia and China and greatly appreciates China’s active and constructive efforts in promoting the ceasefire.
