BEIJING, Jun 5 (APP): China and Pakistan will jointly advance tropical agricultural research under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently signed between the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) and the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC).
Per the inked document, both sides will conduct joint scientific research across four core sectors: tropical cash crops, food grains, tropical fruits & vegetables, and agricultural biotechnology.
Beyond scientific research, the bilateral collaboration will feature germplasm resource exchange and technical training, designed to turn cutting-edge agricultural technologies into tangible productivity gains for farming industries in both nations, as CEN learned from CATAS.
Signed by Li Jihua, Vice President of CATAS, and Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi, Chairman of PARC, the pact solidifies long-standing tropical agricultural cooperation between the two countries, standing as one of the key official outcomes of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China from May 23 to 25.
