MINA, June 5, 2025 (APP):Amid the countless tents of Mina filled with pilgrims from around the world, one face stands out — that of 63-year-old Pakistani pilgrim Habibullah. Despite being visually impaired, he not only dreamt of performing Hajj for decades but also fulfilled it through unwavering faith and the light of knowledge.
Habibullah lost his eyesight at the age of 18, yet he refused to let despair define his life. Instead, he devoted himself to teaching Islamic jurisprudence in Pakistan and memorized the entire Holy Quran in Braille. Today, he stands on the sacred land of the Kaaba, experiencing the fulfillment of his lifelong dream with the eyes of his heart.
Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he shared, “I cannot see the Kaaba with my eyes, but my heart is filled with its presence. This Hajj is the realization of a dream that has been part of my prayers for over fifty years.”
He added, “Knowledge and education are true light; real darkness is not the absence of sight but the absence of knowledge.”
Habibullah’s life and his spiritual journey to Hajj are a powerful testament to the transformative power of faith, knowledge, and patience. “I am that same blind child,” he said, “who is now standing in the House of Allah — successful and content. Alhamdulillah!”
His story is a shining example of the spiritual essence of Hajj and carries a message of hope, perseverance, and faith for Muslims around the globe.
