BEIJING, Sep 8 (APP):The 2026 Beijing International Great Wall Concert brought together leading Pakistani and Chinese artists for a spectacular celebration of music, dance and shared cultural heritage, commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.
Held under the theme “An Ode to Ironclad Friendship,” the landmark cultural event provided a vibrant platform for artistic exchange and highlighted the deep-rooted bonds of friendship between the two countries.
The concert featured performances by some of Pakistan and China’s distinguished artists, who captivated the audience through a rich blend of classical music, Qawwali, dance and vocal performances.
Representing Pakistan, renowned classical artist Nighat Chaudhry took the stage alongside acclaimed Qawwali performers Zain Ali and Zohaib Ali. China was represented by celebrated dance artist Zhang Jingdi, renowned coloratura soprano Chang Sisi, and promising young vocalist Xu Ziyao.
Through music and dance, the artists transcended linguistic and cultural boundaries, creating an atmosphere of harmony and mutual appreciation. Their performances demonstrated the power of cultural diplomacy in bringing people closer and strengthening understanding between nations.
The concert also underscored the growing potential for cultural cooperation between Pakistan and China, particularly in the fields of music, performing arts and people-to-people exchanges.
The event was jointly organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing and the China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC), with support from the People’s Government of Yanqing District.
The iconic setting of the Great Wall added special significance to the occasion, symbolizing the enduring strength and resilience of the China-Pakistan relationship. Against the backdrop of one of China’s most recognized cultural landmarks, the performances reflected the shared commitment of both countries to preserving and passing on their longstanding friendship to future generations.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi welcomed the distinguished guests attending the concert. The gathering was attended by senior diplomats, former Pakistani foreign secretaries and ambassadors, Chinese dignitaries, cultural representatives and artists.
The participation of senior officials and prominent cultural figures underscored the importance attached by both sides to strengthening people-to-people connectivity alongside their longstanding diplomatic and strategic partnership.
The 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations provides an important milestone for Pakistan and China to reflect on decades of close cooperation while exploring new avenues for deeper engagement. Cultural exchanges, in particular, offer an effective means of fostering mutual understanding among younger generations and ensuring that the spirit of friendship continues to evolve.
The Beijing International Great Wall Concert thus served not only as an evening of artistic excellence but also as a celebration of the enduring bond between the peoples of Pakistan and China.
By bringing artists and audiences from both countries together, the concert injected fresh momentum into cultural cooperation and contributed to strengthening the foundation for the continued inheritance of the “ironclad friendship” between Pakistan and China from one generation to the next.
