MADINAH AL MUNAWWARAH, Jun 14 (APP): The Lost and Found Cell in Madinah has successfully resolved 100% of the complaints lodged by Hujjaj regarding lost luggage and personal items after Hajj.
Talking to APP here on Saturday, In-charge of the Lost and Found Cell, Ilyas Jaffar said that a total of 175 complaints had been received from pilgrims concerning their missing belongings. Out of these, 158 complaints were submitted at the office, while 17 were lodged through the Hajjapp.
“Alhamdolillah, by the grace of Allah Almighty, 100% of the complaints have been addressed and no complaint is pending,” he remarked.
He said that the Cell operates round the clock in two shifts with two teams each in morning and night shifts. “We have a sophisticated mechanism in place to trace and return lost luggage and items to the concerned pilgrims,” he added.
He said that their teams were present during the offloading of luggage from trucks arriving from Makkah, ensuring prompt handling of belongings. The Cell also successfully returned seven bags to pilgrims yesterday that had been misplaced even before Hajj, he said.
Ilyas Jaffar said that some pilgrims failed to mention their names or passport numbers on their luggage and used the bags provided to them by the ministry in Pakistan, making identification more challenging.
