China to provide new batch of humanitarian assistance to Iran, Lebanon

BEIJING, June 17 (APP): China will provide a new round of humanitarian assistance to Iran and Lebanon to support reconstruction efforts and help improve the livelihoods of people affected by recent regional conflicts, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian announced on Wednesday.
Responding to a question about whether China would continue assisting Middle Eastern countries impacted by the US-Israel strikes on Iran, Lin said that China had already extended emergency humanitarian aid to Iran and other affected countries in March this year.
He noted that, taking into account the needs and circumstances of the countries concerned, China has decided to deliver additional assistance to Iran and Lebanon in the near future to facilitate post-conflict recovery, reconstruction, and economic development.
Lin emphasized that, as a responsible major country and a longstanding friend of Middle Eastern nations, China will continue to provide support and assistance within its capabilities. He added that China will also intensify efforts to promote dialogue and peace negotiations, while playing a constructive role in advancing lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
