ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police conducted a grand search and combing operation in various areas of the federal capital under the supervision of zonal SPs to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety.
An official told APP on Monday that the search operation was carried out with the participation of zonal police teams, including women police officers, to ensure thorough checking and effective implementation of security measures.
During the operation, police teams checked 145 individuals and 84 households, while 59 motorcycles and 20 vehicles were also inspected as part of the verification process.
The official said that during the operation, 11 suspicious persons, including six Afghan nationals, along with 10 motorcycles were shifted to concerned police stations for further verification and legal action.
He added that illegal weapons along with ammunition were also recovered during the search operation.
The official said that the objective of the operation was to prevent crime, identify suspicious elements and maintain peace and order in the area.
Following the directives of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, grand search and combing operations are being conducted across the district to eliminate criminal elements.
Citizens were urged to cooperate with police during checking and promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline Pucar-15.
