PESHAWAR, Oct 03 (APP):Former Senior Vice President Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI) and Executive Member Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi (Sitara-e-Imtiaz) has been appointed as Coordinator for PAJCCI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the second time.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday appointment of Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi was announced by PAJCCI Chairman Muhammad Zubair Motiwala.
This decision recognizes Mr. Sarhadi’s selfless efforts to promote trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan and to highlight the issues faced by the business communities of both nations. He has previously served as Senior Vice President of PAJCCI on three occasions.
Reacting to his appointment, Zia Sarhadi thanked Chairman Muhammad Zubair Motiwala and President-elect Javed Balwani, pledging to do his utmost to live up to the trust placed in him by entrusting him with the responsibilities of the Coordinator role.
He remarked that the dynamic leadership of Chairman Muhammad Zubair Motiwala serves as a source of inspiration for the country’s business community. He has played a pivotal role in removing the obstacles faced by traders from Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Zia expressed his commitment to meeting the high expectations of the PAJCCI by working around the clock to boost trade not only between Pakistan and Afghanistan but across the entire region, including the Central Asian Republics (CARs).
Sarhadi stated that, given the severe economic challenges facing the country, increasing trade activity is the need of the hour, and everyone must play their part effectively to achieve this goal.
He urged both governments to seriously address the issues hindering bilateral trade and to take measures that facilitate business operations, thereby enabling an immediate resolution to the difficulties currently faced by traders on both sides.
Furthermore, he emphasized that Pakistan and Afghanistan should resolve their issues through dialogue and reopen the border as soon as possible to ensure that the business communities on both sides can benefit from trade corridor facilities.
