MULTAN, Feb 14 (APP):Rana Qasim Noon, Federal Minister and Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, said on Saturday that the younger generation must learn about Kashmir’s history, culture and ongoing struggle to understand how Kashmiris are living under Indian oppression.
Addressing the 7th convocation of University of Southern Punjab, he said he would like to introduce studies on Kashmir affairs in the university. According to him, it is vital that students of the region learn about the culture, civilisation and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.
He said academic degrees signified a responsibility to deliver remarkable service to society and contribute positively to national development.
He added that it was a matter of satisfaction that the university was performing in line with other successful institutions across the country and providing modern education to students.
The minister urged graduates to use their education for the betterment of society and the country, stressing that awareness, knowledge and responsibility were essential for building a strong nation.
