SUKKUR, Feb 28 (APP):The Directorate of Youth Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh, organized the “Young Women Empowerment Conference” at Government Girls High School, Barrage Colony, here on Saturday.
The event was held under the vision of Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar and on the special instructions of Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Department Manzoor Ali Mahesar.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem, as participants stood in solidarity, expressing patriotism and national unity.
Assistant Director Youth Affairs Rizwan Ali Mallah welcomed guests and participants, outlining the conference’s objectives. He emphasized that empowering young women is not only a social requirement but a national development imperative.
He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to providing leadership, digital skills, and self-employment opportunities for female students, enabling them to become architects of a progressive society. He added that educated, skilled, and confident women are essential for Pakistan’s bright and stable future.
Key speakers Shafaq Shehzad, Samiullah Mahar and Dr Iqra Ahmed delivered motivational talks, highlighting the importance of digital literacy, modern technology, entrepreneurship, and financial independence. They stressed that in today’s competitive world, skills, creativity, and self-confidence are more critical than degrees, urging young women to step beyond traditional boundaries and contribute to economic growth.
Educationist Javed Ahmed Qureshi, TEO (Female) Ms Rukhsana and others also attended and praised the initiative, noting that such activities build awareness, confidence, and leadership among female students. They pledged continued support from educational institutions for holistic women’s development.
At the conclusion, Rizwan Ali Mallah distributed commemorative shields and certificates of appreciation to speakers. The Directorate of Youth Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to providing equal opportunities, professional guidance, modern skill training, and resources to young women across Sindh, enabling them to play a prominent role in national development.
A spokesperson for the Directorate stated that empowering young women remains a strategic priority for the Sindh government, with ongoing efforts to promote leadership, skill development, digital education, and entrepreneurship at the provincial level.
The conference, he said, was not merely an event but a practical expression of a comprehensive vision to instill confidence, decision-making ability, and social responsibility in young women, enabling them to contribute to a strong, bright, and dignified society.
