WSSC DIKhan cleanliness drive in full swing under CM’s “Awami Agenda”

Dera Ismail Khan, Aug 27 (APP):The cleanliness drive under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s  “Awami Agenda” program launched by The Water and Sanitation Services Company ( WSSC) was in full swing in DIKhan City.
The Deputy Commissioner Ms Sarah Rehman directed all the departments concerned to make effective measures to ensure complete implementation over the Chief Minister’s ‘Awami Agenda’ program so that the development in the district and provision of maximum relief to citizens could be ensured.
Following the directions  of Deputy Commissioner, WSSC has started cleanliness in the six Union Councils of DIKhan city.
Under the special cleanliness drive  WSSC started the desalting of major drains under which main drains of the city were clean and garbage was removed from different localities. The field operation teams were asked to ensure cleaning and trouble-free flow of waste/sewage water in all major drains and their final disposal to the designated spots. The sanitation staff was actively engaged while utilizing machinery to remove garbage from bazaar and adjoining areas.
While talking to APP, Chairman of the WSSC Board of Directors Naimat Ullah Khan expressed his satisfaction on the performance of the staff and sanitary workers and said that all the available resources will be utilized to provide best sanitation services to the citizens of DIKhan.
“WSSC DI Khan has already launched the cleanliness drive under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s  “Awami Agenda” program, and we are committed to providing better living conditions to the people of DI Khan and the cleanliness drive of the city under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s  “Awami Agenda” program. is a step towards achieving this goal, “he said.
Naimat Ullah Khan said that WSSC was planning to clean the small and main drains in every union council, which would be completed in phases. He said the WSSC alone could not achieve the goal of keeping the district clean. He said that the public participation in the efforts for clean was direly needed. He stressed the people especially the shopkeepers to take active part in the campaign.
Chairman said all resources would be used to make a city green and clean. Special teams will monitor the campaign in the area, he said adding special arrangements will be made to remove the garbage after collected from the main drains for which  WSSC will arrange vehicles.
He called for raising awareness among the general public about the importance of keeping the environment clean. Naimat Ullah Khan appealed to the citizens not to throw garbage in drains but it should be placed in designated places so that it could be disposed of easily.
The Chairman appreciated the staff and sanitation workers of the company for successful cleanliness operations and providing the best services to the citizens.
