PESHAWAR, Mar 04 (APP):Kohat marked the World wildlife day by releasing black and grey partridges into the designated game reserves and honoring officials for outstanding performance during the recent shooting season.
The birds were released in Talkan Game Reserve and Jabar Game Reserve as part of efforts to strengthen biodiversity and restore local ecosystems, wildlife officials said.
Conservator Wildlife Mohammad Niaz and Divisional Forest Officer Wildlife Kohat Abdul Samad Wazir attended the ceremony.
The initiative aimed to promote conservation awareness and ensure the protection of natural resources for future generations.
Speaking at the event, Niaz said World Wildlife Day serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to safeguard
wild species and their habitats.
Wazir added that surveillance mechanisms in game reserves are being improved to curb illegal hunting and maintain ecological balance.
Meanwhile, at Ustarzai Game Reserve, officials Syed Qamar Mujtaba and Ali Haider were awarded certificates of appreciation and cash prizes for exemplary performance during the shooting season.
Authorities said strict enforcement of regulations and transparent management practices have helped enhance both
wildlife protection and departmental credibility.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge to continue conservation programs and biodiversity initiatives across
the province.
