Sundas Foundation was visited by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Saba Sehar on the occasion of World Thalassemia Day, where she met children suffering from thalassemia and emphasized the importance of awareness, prevention, and pre-marriage screening to control the disease.
World Thalassemia Day observed in Gujrat
GUJRAT, May 08 (APP):Additional Deputy Commissioner General Saba Sehar visited Sundas Foundation Gujrat on the occasion of World Thalassemia Day and met children suffering from thalassemia.
According to official sources, the ADC inquired after the health of the children and reviewed the facilities being provided by the foundation for patients. During the visit, Administrator Chaudhry Tariq Rashid briefed her on the welfare services and treatment facilities available at the institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Saba Sehar said awareness and prevention of thalassemia were the need of the hour, adding that philanthropists and welfare organisations were playing a commendable role in supporting patients. She urged citizens to ensure thalassemia screening before marriage to help prevent the disease.
Administrator Chaudhry Tariq Rashid, HR Manager Mir Fazal Abbas and Marketing Manager Imran Khan were also present on the occasion.
