Work in progress to introduce reforms in administrative structure in AJK: PM Anwar-ul-Haq

MIRPUR, Oct 15 (APP):Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Ch Anwaar ul Haq said that work was underway to introduce reforms in the administrative structure in the state.
“Wherever there’s urgent need for action, it will be taken without delay. Whatever commitment we have made must be fulfilled under all circumstances,” Anwaar asserted while chairing an extraordinary meeting held in the state metropolis on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed the overall administrative and governance framework with particular focus on enhancing public service delivery and strengthening the governance structure.
During the meeting, the AJK Prime Minister directed all departments to promptly address public issues and ensure that citizens are kept informed about government initiatives through social media platforms.
 The affairs of the state will be run strictly in accordance with the Rules of Business,” he asserted. He added that all officials must take responsibility and play their part with sincerity and dedication. “We must move forward with passion, ensuring administrative improvement and reforms in the conduct of governance,” he said, adding that an efficient system evolves with time.
“The evolution of an effective system is not just a one-day affair; it requires time,” the prime minister remarked. “Reforms are introduced to bring political and administrative improvement and to ensure smooth functioning of the system,” he said. He reiterated that the administration must always function within the constitutional framework and in accordance with the true spirit of the law.
“Public welfare must remain our top priority. We are all beneficiaries of this system and must work within constitutional boundaries,” he said, adding that negligence will not be tolerated. He stressed the need to face emerging challenges head-on and provide relief to the people. Highlighting the need for fostering a sense of discipline at all levels, he said,  “Administrative officers should work with dignity and exemplary commitment. A deliberate policy of confrontation only leads to destruction.”
Describing the bureaucracy as the backbone of governance, he said it was the prime responsibility of the state’s bureaucrats to keep the system functional. The present coalition government, he said, will take every possible step to improve governance.
