HYDERABAD, Jul 25 (APP):The Model Criminal Trial Court I on Thursday convicted a woman and her brother with death penalty for killing a man over a petty quarrel among children in Dadan Shah area on June 11, 2022.
According to details, judge Tasawar Ali Rajput found Muhammad Asif and his sister Shazia Yaseen guilty of brutally murdering Asad Ali Borano with a sickle.
The judge stated in the order that Borano was killed when he was trying to diffuse a fight between his and Shazia’s children. Shazia, on her part, handed over a sickle to her brother Asif and asked him to attack Borano.
The eye witnesses Jan Muhammad and Hamid Ali tried to intervene and save Borano but Asif succeeded in striking the sickle on Borano’s neck. The judge convicted Asif and Shazia to death by hanging.
Both of them had been ordered to pay compensation of Rs1 million each to Borano’s family, failing which they would undergo imprisonment of 6 months.
The court cancelled the bail of Shazia who was taken into the police custody and sent to the Women’s Jail while Asif was already in the police custody.
The convicts can challenge the verdict within 30 days.
