LAHORE, Nov 20 (APP): The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) on Thursday successfully organised a special mushaira titled ‘Shaam-e-Sukhan’, a tribute to Allama Iqbal, at the historic Pak Tea House.
The evening paid rich tribute to Allama Iqbal’s philosophical vision, poetic genius and lasting intellectual legacy. Renowned poets, scholars, and emerging literary voices recited poetry inspired by Iqbal’s timeless message of self-awareness, awakening and national spirit.
The gathering echoed with verses reflecting themes of unity, hope, and revival, leaving participants deeply moved and inspired.
Pak Tea House—historically known as a hub for writers, poets and thinkers once again came alive with literary discourse, reconnecting the space to its original identity as a centre of intellectual and cultural exchange.
Speaking on the occasion, WCLA Director General Najmus Saqib said, ”The event is part of the Authority’s continued efforts to revive the literary heritage of Lahore and restore the tradition of regular mushairas at historic venues. Such initiatives aim to engage the younger generation with the city’s rich cultural past while strengthening Lahore’s image as a city of art, literature, and ideas.”
