LAHORE, Nov 17 (APP):The Wlled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) has brought “Khedan Lahore Diyan” to life once again at the iconic Shahdara Complex (Jahangir’s Tomb) on Monday.
The initiative highlighted age-old Punjabi games, inspiring renewed appreciation for traditional recreation among people of all ages, said a press release issued here.
The activity featured a wide range of traditional Punjabi games, including Latto Game, Kikli, Rassa Koodna, Stappu, Marbles (Kanchay), Pitho Gol Garam, Bandar Killa, Kokla Chhapaki, Sack race and Tug-of-War (Rasa Kashi).
The event brought back nostalgic childhood memories for the elders while offering a fun and educational experience for the younger generation.
The lively atmosphere at Shahdara Complex attracted families, children and visitors who enthusiastically participated in the games, reflecting the true spirit of Punjab’s cultural vibrancy.
Schools also joined the activity in large numbers and students especially enjoyed taking part in the traditional games.
WCLA Director General Najmus Saqib said, “Under the vision of the Punjab government, WCLA is committed to revive Lahore’s cultural identity through engaging community events like ‘Khedan Lahore Diyan.’ Such initiatives not only promote our traditional heritage but also encourage younger generations to take pride in the vibrant history and culture of Punjab.”
