FAISALABAD, Jan 02 (APP):The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has sped up work to establish groundwater recharge wells at 10 locations in the city.
Work on two groundwater recharge wells is in the final stages and planning is underway for the setting up of others.
The details were shared with Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar during his visits to the sites at hockey stadium, Susan Road and Malikpur here on Friday.
Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza also informed about the importance and usefulness of the projects.
He said that the construction of ground water recharge wells would ensure rapid drainage of rainwater and increase the groundwater level.
He said that all resources are being utilized to provide quality drainage services to the citizens in the upcoming monsoon.
He said that WASA would also construct 4 new storage tanks for which steps have been initiated.
Appreciating the ongoing steps of WASA, the Commissioner directed to complete the project before the upcoming monsoon season.
