LAHORE, Mar 01 (APP):To improve water supply in Lahore, WASA has decided to construct two new water storage tanks with own-source funds of Rs1 billion. These tanks will be established in the areas of Laxmi Chowk and University of Engineering and Technology (UET).
According to official sources, WASA has issued tenders for the project, while contacts have been intensified with the relevant institutions to obtain NOCs.
An underground water storage tank will be constructed in the grounds of Dyal Singh College in the Lakshmi Chowk area,
It is worth mentioning here that WASA has also decided to use the grounds of UET for water storage tanks. WASA officials said that more than 10 water storage tanks have been constructed with funds from the Punjab government before this.
The completion of the new tanks is expected to solve the long-standing water problem of Laxmi Chowk, while the populations in front of UET and adjacent areas will also get significant relief.
