LAHORE, Dec 02 (APP):The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore and the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate the Graduate Engineer Training Placement Program, creating professional training opportunities for newly graduated engineers.
The signing ceremony was held during a meeting chaired by WASA Lahore Managing Director Ghaffran Ahmed. The MoU was signed by MD Ghaffran Ahmed on behalf of WASA Lahore, while PEC Additional Registrar Muhammad Ansar represented the engineering council.
The primary objective of the MoU is to enhance the professional skills of fresh engineering graduates by providing practical training, technical exposure, and hands-on experience in the field of water supply and sewerage management. Under the agreement, PEC will nominate fresh graduates from across the country, who will be placed at WASA Lahore for a five-month internship. During this period, trainees will receive a monthly stipend funded by the Pakistan Engineering Council.
Trainees will be inducted into WASA Lahore’s ongoing technical and infrastructure development projects, where they will gain practical experience, exposure to modern technologies, and an understanding of operational systems. The program is expected to support young engineers in building a solid professional foundation and open new pathways for career growth.
The ceremony was attended by Director Mudassar Javed from WASA Lahore, while PEC was represented by Punjab Vice Chairman Dr. Sohail Aftab Qureshi, Regional Head Engineer Muhammad Ansar, and Assistant Registrar Umar Ijaz.
